According to The BizPac Review, George P. Bush expressed support for Trump breaking his family’s opinion of the former president.

“It’s my name on the ballot. I am my own man. … [W]When I talk about my balance sheet, be it as land commissioner or my support for Trump, I just stick to the facts. The fact is, I came out in 2016 as one of the first nationwide elected officials to support him. I’ve raised a million and a half in support of the Republican candidates, with him at the top of the ticket. “

“And it was a high point for Republican Party politics in the state of Texas. And in 2020, I boldly declared that Trump was the only one standing between our country, the American people and socialism. And lo and behold, with over 30 trillion total expenditures, six trillion in the annual budget for the next year alone, I have proven to be correct. “

Spectrum News reported, “Paxton has been charged with securities fraud since 2015. The FBI is also investigating him on allegations by former senior officials that he abused his position to help a wealthy donor. Paxton has denied misconduct in both cases. “

“We need an attorney general who piles mug photos of die-hard criminals, not an attorney general who piles mug photos of himself.”

Trump is the “center of the Republican Party”.

“When you look at my guidelines, I think America first. Trump is the center of the Republican Party. I am my own man, I support him and we must carry on this legacy [and] Catch the lightning bolt he brought into the Republican Party so we can help all of our Republican compatriots cast the vote. “

“I think we’re like any American family and we have our differences of opinion, be it on President Trump or on the hot button issues of the day.”

“But I just have my own vision, my own plan, my own track record here in Texas. I think I only gained a few souls for the first 150 days or so of the Biden and Harris presidency and administration of the White House. “

“Really, this is the only Bush who got it right. He goes far. He’s on the way.”

At yesterday’s Texas event, @realDonaldTrump Texas Land Commissioner @georgepbush, Jeb’s son, shouted on stage, “He’s the only Bush who likes me. … Really, this is the Bush who got it right … I like him. I like him . He goes far. He goes far. “Pic.twitter.com/JSmxaeBb2Z

“Although President Trump defeated Bush’s father Jeb and criticized former Presidents George HW and W. Bush, Trump supported George P.’s re-election offer,” NPR reported at the time.

“Elections are about decisions. In 2016, George P. Bush supported Donald J. Trump and promoted him. His opponent attacked Trump and urged him to give up the race. The Texas Conservatives have a clear choice: Bush for Texas Land Commissioner, ”he tweeted.

From the BizPac review:

Not every member of the Bush dynasty is an angry anti-Trump zealot. George P. Bush, the nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of the failed 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush, is indeed a passionate Trump fan who views the former president as the “center of the Republican Party.”

Speaking of his candidacy for the next Texas attorney general on Fox News’ “Fox News Primetime” on Wednesday, the aspiring 45-year-old Texas AG begged the former president’s supporters to acknowledge that he is one of them.

Bush has been Texas Land Commissioner since 2015 but is now trying to defeat incumbent Texas AG Ken Paxton, who is currently embroiled in a number of scandals.

When Bush announced his run earlier this month, he reportedly responded to Paxton’s scandals by saying, “We need an attorney general piling mug photos of die-hard criminals, not an attorney general piling mug shots of himself.”

Moderator Tammy Bruce responded by asking him to explain how he reconciles with so many of his family members’ hatred of Trump.

His point was that his harsh criticism of the Biden administration – in contrast to the relentless harsh criticism of his family members of Trump – has earned him several awards.

Bush is actually “the only Bush who likes Trump,” as the then President himself said when he welcomed the younger Bush on stage two years ago at an event in Texas.

Trump has not yet officially endorsed Bush for Texas AG, but given his track record, confirmation will come at some point. Three years ago he supported Bush in his re-election as Texas Land Commissioner.

The former president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., quickly followed suit.
